The Hudson River is in our backyard, and my neighbors, across the street, are having a really good time with it. They have since last week been having quite a time with their lawn. With all the rain last week I thought it was going to be slicked over with mud.
As it turns out, they were in the midst of killing a lawn patch of some sort of a weed or plant of some sort. They are putting down some sort of organic material, but don't know what, it's brownish in color. It seems to be packed down into the soil and it seems to be spreading in the soil. It doesn't seem to be a weed. I'm guessing it's a little weed like thing with sort of a mix of grassy and weedy looking qualities.
It hasn't spread very far and it's not very visible. It's just one spot in their lawn.
My neighbor and I started joking about it and how it's not really a weed, it's sort of like poison ivy.
It's not poison ivy, but he said it did look like it.
I don't think I've ever seen poison ivy before. I thought I'd had poison ivy, but it was a different kind. It was a big, thick, leafy vine that grew along the edge of a parking lot and a dumpster. The leaves were sort of tree like. It didn't seem to attack trees, or anything. It was just odd looking.
I was fascinated by it.
I learned later that poison ivy attacks anything that touches the ground, and it spreads by underground stems that can grow many feet long. It also spreads rapidly and spreads over a lot of ground. It spreads very fast.
It's like a weed, a sort of weed.
It's not poison ivy, but
